K of C Council 215

Notes of Meeting 8/13/24                                             

 

In Attendance: 14 members with Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight, Financial Sec, Advocate, Inside Guard, Warden, 2Trustees, Recorder

 Notes from our July meeting were read and accepted by motion.

Grand Knight Report

Tootsie Roll Drive for special needs programs at the Cut Bridge will be Saturday, 8/16 9-2. Volunteers are needed. Children over 15 are invited to help. Gear and equipment are ready. The camper vehicle is available for use.

Treasurers Report

Only a minimal bank charge was paid this month. An outstanding bill from the State organization for $550 will be paid.

·        Bank Balance: $6331.256

·        CD investment: $76,670 ($25k to be added this fall)

·        The Treasurer’s report was accepted.

Financial Report

No outstanding financial transactions transpired this month.

Unfinished Business

Planning for the Golf Tournament has begun. Tony F indicated the following are available:

·        Signup sheets

·        Donation sheets

·        An info sheet for Council activities

Donations collection is going well. A summary sheet of prior donors is needed. A review of food requirements will be done this month; menu to include steak tips, potato salad, beans, salad, bread, brownie and ice cream sundaes.

A date for the Homeless Meal was chosen, 10/26.  Mass for deceased Knights will be 10/27 at the 8:15 Sunday Mass at St. Ann’s, hospitality to follow – coordination with Fr. Jim is needed and a donation to the parish will be made. The Rosary for Gold Star families will be Sunday 11 AM, 9/29 at the monument location; a donation of coffee and donuts will be made by the Council.

A method for posting of these meeting notes will be researched by Frank B and Peter B.

 “Keep Christ in Christmas” art competition needs volunteers to commit for its management.
